After graduating from university, on my travels, I fell in love with this beautiful island of love, in the middle of the Mediterranean. Everything about it appealed to me. It was like going back in time. Simple village ways and simple village life. Basic living. Basic foods. An ease to life itself. In some mountain villages the people still travelled the narrow winding paths by donkey! The sea and the beaches were incredible.
I have always been a nature girl. I fell in love with Aphrodite and her story. Here, I made my own story. We designed and built our home on the edge of the ‘forest’ (I must clarify that this ‘forest’ is in reality an open space with rocks, shrubbery and a few sparse trees…..a Cyprus rather barren forest !)
My art work until this point had been mostly mural work in the night clubs of Ayia Napa holiday resort and the neighbouring town, some private nurseries and offices. I took a little time out to raise my young family, grow trees, flowers and vegetables and run some art workshops and lessons. I still worked on some smaller projects, portraits and the odd commission. I was asked to create some paintings for a local exhibition through one of my students back in 2007 and I have been painting again ever since! Art has been my passion since I can remember!. When I grow up I want to be an artist!
